Baratang Island

Ride to the Lime stone caves in Baratang Island is exciting as well as thrilling. 100 km by road from Port Blair – between south and middle Andaman, Baratang islands brings forth the tropical side of the Andamans. Mangroves, birds, caves, trekking, and local tribes.Its a must visit place if you are in Andamans.

Rangat Island 170 km by road from Port Blair is a large island in Middle Andaman with pristine beaches, waterfalls, and interesting nearby islands. Rangat is an eco-tourism hub and popular for Amkunj beach, Cutbert Bay a turtle nesting ground, Dhaninallah Mangrove Walk and Yerratta Mangrove Park. Dhaninallah Mangrove Nature Walk is a wooden broadwalk meandering mangrove creeks for a distance of 713 mtr and longest walkway of its kind in the country.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 1 :

Pick-up from Port Blair Hotel early morning.
Drive to Baratang through dense forest and also visit Limestone Cave.
Proceed to Rangat.
Overnight stay at Rangat.

Day 2 :

After Breakfast, Check-out from the hotel in Rangat
Visit Morice Dera beach, Amkunj beach and Dhaninallah Mangrove Park
Return to Port Blair by evening (between 4-6 PM). You are dropped at your hotel or airport.

Why does this trip has only two start times - 3.30am and 6.30am?

The route to Baratang Island passes through Jarwa Tribal areas where entry is restricted and allowed only in convoys four times a day from both sides. We need to join 6am or 9am convoys while going to come be able to back on same day. To make it to convoy start point we need to leave at 3.30am or 6.30am. To cover Mud Volcano at Baratang, we need to leave at 3.30am only.

Trodly.. When I was searching for specific package in Andaman trip, I came across this Trodly after a long search. There were no ratings or reviews on this website.. But the text conversation and email with Trodly guys made me confident. Paid for the package.. On the previous day of starting tour in Andaman for particular package, we were greeted by the representatives of Trodly in the lobby of hotel where we stayed. He give instructions and the things we have to do during the package. It was so good. Next day we started the tour package of Trodly. The vehicle given to us was super and neat. The driver was very aware of the situations. His time sense was very surprising. We honored him for his ability of driving and the way he handled the situation (tickets/permits/ food everything) Lodging was our pick and it wasn't included in the package. Overall Trodly give us amazing experience and Trodly give us very qualified service. The amount we paid for package was worthy and worthy value. I give five stars for Trodly.. :)
