Choki Traditional Art School is located to the north of the city Thimphu in the beautiful valley of Kabesa. It is a nonprofit private school dedicated only to the development of children and culture of Bhutan. It offers training to disadvantaged children in all the arts which are unique and typical of Bhutanese culture. Bhutan is appreciated and well-known for its traditions, culture and finely arts that include wood carving, weaving, sculpting, and painting which are famous in the world. These forms of art distinguishes Bhutan from other countries and hence there is a high need to continue these long traditions of arts. It is well worth visiting the school which is just 10 kilometers from the city. There is also a gift shop where the crafts of these students are sold.
