About Aligarh Fort
Aligharh Fort also known as 'Aligarh Quila' or 'Ramgarh Quila' is a 16th century fort built by Muhammad, son of Mughal Governor Umar. Fort is located about 3 KMs from city center and on a small hill and surrounded by ravines on all sides.
Aligarh Fort is under the control of Botany department of Aligarh Muslim University. Botany deparment maintains a well-kept garden within and around the fort. Visitors need permission from the botanical department of AMU to visit this fort.
