About Asar Mahal

This Mahal is located nearby Jama Masjid in Bijapur. Being Established in 16th century By Mohammed Adil Shah, the place is also termed as “Justice Hall”. The four pillars support the building. It is believed that the hair from Beard of Prophet Mohammed is used while constructing this building and hence it is an important worship place for Muslims. There are three tanks in this complex. One of these tanks is 15 ft in depth and women are not allowed to enter. The Persian architecture acts are kept in upper storey which also serves as a venue for “Urs” festival which is conducted here every September.
