About Jatayu Theertham
Jatayu Theertham is dedicated to Jatayu, an Eagle loyal to Lord Rama, is considered as King of Bird. Jatayu helped Lord Rama to defeat Demon King Raavan. During the battle, Jatayu’s wing got injured and fell down. Lord Rama buried the body of Jatayu and later a temple was raised over the burial of Jatayu. Tourists can see a pit full of Vibhuti (a holy ash which one gets after performing Yagna).
