About Joshimath
Joshimath can be accessed by Asia’s longest cable car which covers 10 towers before reaching Joshimath. Tourists are charged Rs. 500 for this journey. Tourists can also reach this place through bus route. Perched at a height of 1890 m, Joshimath is an important pilgrimage center for Hindu. Joshimath is one among four monasteries established by Adi Guru Sri Shankaracharya in 8th century. Below Joshimath in Vishnu Prayag, the rivers Alakanand and River Dauli Ganga concourses. Tourists can visit the temple dedicated to Lord Narashima. Joshimath also serves as a base camp for trekkers to reach the valley of flowers.
