About Mangala Devi Temple
Mangala Devi temple is a famous religious center in Idukki District. It is just 15 km away from Thekkady. The temple is situated atop the hill at an altitude of 1337 m above sea level. Tourists can see that the temple is built in authentic Kerala Style of Architecture. Also the temple, which is wrapped amidst thick forests, serves as an ideal spot for trekking. People are normally allowed to visit this temple during an auspicious day “Chithra Pournami” . On this day, a grand festival is organized at the temple. It is essential to get the permission from Wildlife Preservation Officer to visit this temple. One can also catch a glimpse of lush green hills from the temple.
