About Amindivi Island
Amindivi Island is the first and foremost place where people started to reside in Lakshadweep Islands. This Island is one of the thickly inhabited among other inhabited islands. Sprawling up to 3 km in length and 1.6 km in width, the Island has a tropical climate. Wrapped up by coconut grooves, the island is a feast for eyes.
Coir products are major attractions here. Walking sticks made up of tortoise shells and coconut shells is an example for their craft skills. Floral motifs carved out of corals are also worth picking up from Amindivi Island.
