About Tower of Silence
Linked to the Parsis religion, these large circular constructions may be of interest to visitors of a curious nature. The structures themselves are beautifully constructed rotund, used by the Parsi. The Parsi are practicers of the ancient religion of Zoroastrian tradition. They believe that the dead are unclean and use these giant receptacles to dump their dead bodies. There’s one for women, one for children and one for men. The grounds are very placid and beautiful. Entry to the hill is strictly prohibited for non-Parsees.
