About Rakaskop
Some 16 km away from Belgaum, located the Rakaskop which means “Village of Demon”. As per legend, villagers believe that a demon lived in the hillock nearby the village. Also they state that the huge laterite which looks like a human seated is the example for the demon dwelled in the hillock. Nearby the village river Markendya is flowing across which a water reservoir was built and used for water supply.
