About Talatal Ghar
Just 3 kms from Sibsagar town is Talatal Ghar, one of the finest examples of Ahom architecture. The monument is a palace of one of the Ahom kings. It used to be a seven-storied structure but most of the top floors are now destroyed. A unique aspect of this structure is that there were three storeys underground and four above the ground, something that you don't find in other royal palaces. A visit to Talatal Ghar will definitely be a lesson in history and archeology.
