About Borong
Borong is a picturesque small village in South Sikkim, located at an altitude of 5800 ft. It is about 17 kms from Ravangla and is gaining importance in the 'off the beaten path' travel guides. Hiking and nature trails, trekking, enjoying the beauty of Himalayas, are some of the activities you can do here. Ralong monastery is about 5 kms from Borong. Other nearby attractions include Gurang Monastery, Famtam village, silver falls and Barmley bridge. Borong just being a hamlet, does not offer much choice in accomodation, Wild Flower reteat is your best option here.
Borong is also known for the famous hot water springs Borong Hotspring which are like natural spas and supposedly have curative powers.
