Amba ghat is situated at a height of 3100 ft above the sea level and is on the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri national highway (NH-204).The spot is the highest in the kolaphur and the region beyond this point is known as the Konkan region.The place is also mentioned in the books of History,which says that the place acted as abridge between kokan and Kolaphur during the period of Chatarpati shivaji.The place has picturesque surrounding and pleasant weather, which makes it more enjoyable for the tourist to visit it all round the year.
