About Wular Lake
Wular Lake earns the distinction of being one the largest freshwater lake in India, and also in Asia. Jhelum River traverses the lake and it is situated about 40 KMs north of Srinagar. Wular Lake is amazingly beautiful and unlike Dal lake is not thronged with tourist. This picturesque lake has great biological, hydrological and economic value for Kashmir. In 1990 it was designated as a Wetland of International Importance.
