Situated in Khammam District near Hyderabad, Bhadrachalam is a vital Hindu pilgrim center in the Andhra Pradesh. The temple which is dedicated to Lord Rama dates back to 370 years. As pre Hindu Mythology, it was during their exile, Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and Lord Laxman stayed in Bhadrachalam forest area for a while. The sanctum sanctorum has the idols of Rama, Sita and Laxman. Apart from the Lord Rama’s shrine, there are boat services which take you through picturesque route from Bhadrachalam up till Rajahmundry. Parnasala, Jattayu Paaka(2 km), Gundala (5 km) and Dummugudem are few places we must pay a visit when we are in Bhadrachalam.
