About Government Museum-Trichy
Government Museum of the Trichy was established in 1983 in the cantonment area. Later in 1997, the museum was shifted to Rani Mangammal Darbar Hall of Nayak Kingdom within the Town Hall premises. Approximately 2000 items are displayed in the museum. Ancient era artifacts like carvings, stone inscriptions, sculptures, megalithic statues, currencies, weapons and tools can be seen inside the museum. The outdoor unit has a stone sculpture park, it has statues of various Hindu Gods and Goddesses, sacrificial slab, Nandhi statues, etc. which date back to 13th century.
