Founded in 1875, the Mahatma Phule Museum is located in Pune of Maharashtra state. Items related to geology, forestry, cottage industries, armory, minerals, etc. are displayed in this museum. Arms and weapons of Mughal and Maratha kingdoms are most enticing. Miniature models of Indian Hydro – electric and irrigation projects make fascinating displays. There is a library in the museum premises as well.
The museum publishes a science monthly, Srishtidnyan, which explains science in simple language.
