Thrissur, the fourth largest city of Kerala State of Southern India, was once a capital city of Kingdom of Cochin. Also India’s first Mosque, Cheraman Juma Masjid, was established here around 6th century AD.

The city is buzzing with commercial and financial activities. During the month of April or May, the famous Pooram festival is celebrated in Vadakkumnathan Temple Maidan. During Pooram festival, the temple is decorated with colorful lights, elephants adorned with festive finery are exhibited in the Maidan and Traditional Music is played.
