About Ballalarayana Durga
The Ballalarayana Durga is an isolated fort situated atop a hill in the Chikmagalur district. The ruins of this once mighty fort are in dilapidated state but the green forests and steep slopes around the fort provide a very good trek. One can also plan trek to Bandaje Falls and the Alekan Falls while planning this trek. The fort is in a very isolated area and so one must carry food, drinks, as there are no shops nearby.
The site is not camp friendly, the Bandaje Falls is a popular camping site though.
