About Panipat Museum
Battle of Panipat memorial society set up by the government of Haryana highlights the major events that took place for over 200 years which made Panipat a place of great historical importance.
The Panipat museum is designed as such to disseminate the knowledge and information about archaeology, history, art and craft of Haryana with special emphasis on battle of Panipat. The display of antiquities, inscriptions, sculptures, arms and armours, pottery, jewellery and old valuable documents has been augmented by maps, write-ups, photographs and translides etc. It is an attempt to provide an insight into the arts of bravery of some violent and patriotic warriors who sacrificed their lives at Panipat.
Department of archaeology and museums, Haryana is also associated with this project and has donated a large number of items for the display in the museum.
The place attracts the history freaks who take deep interest in exploring the pages of the past remarkable battles held t that place. You can spend 2-3 hours with in the niche of culture and art. The museum is one of the main attractions of Panipat.
