About Eye Of The Emirates - Al Qasba, Sharjah
Al Qasba is a crowded and happening area in the city and a popular destination among tourists. Many of the top restaurants, cafés, and entertainment centers are concentrated in this area. The central attraction of this area and the pride of Sharjah is the enormous Ferris wheel, also famously known as ‘The Eye of the Emirates’. This giant wheel is the observation point of the nearby landscapes up to 30 miles. With 42 air conditioned cabins each accommodating 6-8 persons, this wheel is the tallest one in the Middle East, Africa, West and central Asia. From the windows of the cabins, you can eye the scenic beauty of the lagoons, waterfront, lakes, and canal and also of its neighbor, Dubai. Burj Khalifa peeps through the distant sky filled with shadows and mist. Don’t miss the boat ride in the Al Qasba canal and the musical fountains. Best time is the evenings when the whole area lightens up and likens to a fairyland. This area is also called Sharjah’s Venice because of its canal. Remember to savour the tastes of London ice cream and Turkish coffee.
