About Blue Souq, Sharjah
Blue Souq or Central Souq is one of the significant landmarks of the emirate that should not be missed. A picturesque building, with the wind towers and the classic blue colored tiles decorating it make it the most photographed building. Its location, on the shores of the Khalid lagoon, adds to the beauty of the place. The Sunset, the waters and the sand colored building is a perfect combination for shutterbugs. The interior architecture is as beautiful as its exteriors. Designed by British architects, the building is in the shape of ‘H', with two long parallel buildings interconnected with tunnels. One of the two sections of this shopping market has a wide range of electronic and kitchen utilities. The other section of shops sell international and local jewelry, clothing and antiques. There is a Gold Souk that glitters with its necklaces, bangles, earrings. On the ground floor, there are watches, modern jewelry, clothing and the first floor is dedicated to the local Arabic goods like shawls, rugs, gems which can be brought down to your price.
