Every island has something unique to offer, every beach is similar yet different here. Best way to do this would be to make one of the islands as your base (we suggest Minicoy<\/a> or Kadmat\u00a0)and then use 1-2 days to visit other islands in a day trip. But there is a catch here, only government run ferries could be used and you best option would be to take it as part of a sports package.<\/p>\n

6) Visit Lighthouse At Minicoy Island<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

If you plan to visit Minicoy, which you must then a visit to Lighthouse on Minicoy Island is a must. Situated south of the island, it is 49 meter high lighthouse painted white and built in year 1885. The lightwower has a winding staircase consisting of 216 steps which lead to top giving you amazing view of White Sandy beaches, the coconut palms and Laccadive sea.<\/p>\n

7) Go Canoeing Or Kayaking<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Literally meaning, ‘the stick dance’ –\u00a0Kolkali dance is\u00a0performed with sticks.\u00a0\u2018Kol\u2019 means stick and so the dance is known as Kolkali. Only men are allowed to do this dance. \u00a0Another dance form of the locals is\u00a0Parichakali which\u00a0literally means ‘the Shield Dance’. \u00a0The dance is done with\u00a0shields and swords by men.\u00a0\u00a0These dances are usually performed on auspicious occasions such as marriages and festivals but you can get to see them at some of the events performed by different resorts from time to time<\/p>\n
