About Kempty Falls
This arresting water fall is one of the most popular destinations in Mussoorie. A trip to Mussoorie is not complete without a dip in the turquoise pool of waterfall, especially during the summer months by which time this place is really packed with people. The waterfall starts to tumble down from an impressive height , then branch out into five thin shoots like fingers and finally reachdown to the brilliant blue pool. This splendid piece of nature is surrounded by shops and restaurants making it a convenient stop.
The Kempty falls is about 45km from Dehradoon and 15km from Mussorie, making it an ideal stop for the travellers. The falls can be visitied round the year, except during the monsoon months of July and August as the water flow is too high then. Trouts are in abundance down the stream and fishing permits can be obtained from the Divisional Forest Officer, Mussoorie.
