Ranmal Lake is about 8 kms away from city center in Jamnagar. Lakhota Palace and Kotha Bastion are located in the middle of the lake. The Bastion was the arsenal of Jamnagar during the ancient times and the Palace now serves as a museum that displays several sculptures, some dating as far back as 9th century. The setting of the Palace is a big draw for tourists and of course the indispensable lesson in history provided by a visit to the Palace.

The Maharaja of Nawanagar had built the palace in the mid-19th-century in the center of lake Ranmal Lake. It dwells a small museum, which stores artifacts and pottery from the medieval age .The edifice has fine woodcarving and depict the story of the wars fought by the famous Jadeja rulers. Both explorers and archeological lovers should not miss the place.
