Spiti in Himachal Prasdesh was long on our radar, and after two trips to Ladakh in last 4 years and numerous short trips in between, it was not difficult decision to plan our next bike trip to “The Middle Land” the land between Tibet and India. In some ways more rugged and isolated than Ladakh, Spiti is alienated from much greener Lahaul Valley by 4551m high Kunzum La.

Very much like Zanskar River in Zanskar Valley, Spiti River in Spiti Valley is your perpetual companion across the moonscape terrain of the valley which occasionally has few villages with their green barley fields and monasteries.

Terraced houses are a common sight in far flung villages that come after hours of driving

Had to stop and watch the beautiful sunset against high Himalayas

A hanging wooden beidge across Spiti River

A green valley like this is a rare sight in Lahaul
