About Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya Park
Now known as Minto park in memory of the foundation stone which lies close to the park entrance denoting the transfer of power following the Indian impendence uprisings. It’s here that the proclamation of Victoria’s edict of administration was announced to the people of India, cutting their ties with the East India Trading company, and placing them under custodianship of the Crown. This was taken in light of the 1857 Sepoy mutiny, a, marking a new phase in Indian history.
