About Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
One of the 12 temples of the Jyotirlinga, or ‘pillar of light’. Hindu’s will know this as one of only 12 temples in the whole of India. It’s believed Shiva manifested himself as a Jyotirlinga to 36 locations in India, 12 of importance. If you make a visit to all 12 of these, it is said that you’re relieved of sins in your past 7 lives. It is asked that men remove their shirts before touching the monument.
