About Salar Gunj Gate
The Salar gunj gate is situated in Insar Bazaar road in the middle of Panipat city. It was named after nawab Salar Jung. The salar gunj gate is of prime historical and archaeological importance.
Although the area is very hustle bustle but is a hub of shopping for all sort of people. A perfect place to spend your evenings amid the historically rich structure, street food which is utterly delicious, consisting of the tangy chaats and samosas. You won’t regret eating such tasty food how so ever unhealthy it is.
The gate is the central archaeological attraction of the city. It was built by Salar Jung in the memory of one of his friend and admirer, Faiz nawab sadak. Salar Jung, whose name this gate take, was the prime minister of the nizam of Hyderabad.
