Detailed overview

Damnoen Saduak is home to a mesmerizingly beautiful floating market in a canal, where tourist and locals flock every year to enjoy authentic Thai food and culture. The market is about 100 kilometres from the city of Bangkok and is easily accessible by road.

The Safari Park in Kanchanaburi is spread across 200 acres of green land is home to several wild animals like the lions, zebras, tigers, giraffes, variety of butterflies and more. This man-made sanctuary for the wild beasts, lets you enjoy the company of the animals up close, you may feed them and watch them in their natural habitats Apart from the bus safaris the park organises several entertaining events like the crocodile wrestling and the dog shows.

The War Museum built near the River Kwai talks about the Death Railway which was constructed by the Japanese as a part of the Thai-Burma railways, this museum was constructed during the year of 1942-1943. The museum houses several artefacts like maps, weapons, tools and more, of the Allied POWs who built the railway and also huts which used to be settlements of the Allied POWs.

 

Itinerary

  • The day's tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in the central areas of Bangkok between 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM in a shared vehicle.
  • Post a short meet and greet, you will be driven to the floating market with the group, arrive at the Damnoen Saduak floating market at around 9:30 AM.
  • You may explore the market on foot and also take a paddleboat ride for 20 minutes, witness the local seasonal fruits and vegetables, and yeah some delicacies of Thailand as well.
  • Next up, you will head to the Kanchanaburi region, arrive at Kanchanaburi at around noon and have lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Post lunch, you will head to the Safari Park open zoo at around 1:30 PM.
  • Enjoy a safari by bus, you will also be handed a bucket of food for feeding the animals during the safari.
  • Spend time with the cute little tiger cubs, pat and feed them.
  • Post your time in the Safari Park, you would be heading to the River Kwai Bridge at around 4:00 PM.
  • At around 4:20 PM, take a tour of the JEATH War Museum and explore the history of the Death Railway which was built by the Allied POWs under the Japanese.
  • Witness several artefacts from the 1942-1943 period which were used by the Allied POWs and also take a tour of the accommodations, which once housed the workers.
  • You would leave for Bangkok at around 5:00 PM and will be dropped back to your hotel at 7:30 PM.
