About Angadipetty - Kerala Ayurveda Museum

 

Angadipetty- Kerala Responsible Ayurveda Tourism Educational Resource (KRATER) is a new initiative to provide authentic scientific awareness to common people who are in search of the true spirit and richness of Ayurveda. Its objective conceptualization leads to the establishment of Kerala Ayurveda Museum as Angadipetty, the registered trade mark under Trade Marks Registry, Government of India. Museum communicates the different stages of developments of Ayurveda; right from 5000 BCE to 21st century on a descriptive autodidactic approach.


Angadipetty - Kerala Ayurveda Museum is objectively conceptualized by Prof. Jessy Mathew M.Sc (Plant Science) - an academician since 1983, was the head of the department of Botany at St.George’s college, Aruvithura ,an A+ accredited college by National Assessment and Accreditation Council ,University Grants Commission, Government of India. Prof.Jessy Mathew has shown profound interest in the study and conservation of medicinal plants diversity of Kerala. Her academic projects on cost effective utilization of native medicinal plants have become the eye opener for Ayurveda medicine manufacturing industry in Kerala - and Dr.Jacob Thomas Puthuppallil MD (Ayurveda) PhD - an academician since 1984, is the head of the department of Ayurveda at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. In his academic and research career, he has produced five doctoral degrees, introduced Doctoral programme in Ayurveda, undergraduate programme in Ayurveda pharmacy and diploma programme in Ayurveda Panchakrma and International Spa Therapy ,first time in Kerala. He has been working as the member of academic council, Dean, faculty of Ayurveda and member syndicate.


Angadipetty – Kerala Ayurveda Museum showcases 180 different medicinal plants specious of Kerala, 64 different raw drugs herbarium and an interactive studio. Interactive studio has been provided with descriptive frames, interactive visuals, models, samples and demos in 175 exhibits under the following headings.
