Suryanamaskar Jaipur - Yoga in Forest
What is Suryanamaskar?
Suryanamaskar is a yogic salutation to the Sun combined with yogic asanas, it is belived thatSuryanamaskar is an ancient way of absorbing mystical solar energies from the Sun god who is considered a deity in Hinduism.
- The Nahargarh Biological Park
The Nahargarh Biological Park is a part of forest and wildlife conservation initiative by the Government of Rajasthan. It houses the Nahargarh Rescue Center for endangered species and various other historical stuctures like a 17th century hunting lodge popularly known as the Shikargah. Also in the vicinity is the Ramsarisagar lake an ancient reservoir style lake built for water conservation in the area.
- A yoga session in the Nahargarh Forests
The Nahargarh Forests are a well preserved forest area encompassing the Historical city of Jaipur. This Yoga session is conducted lakeside amidst various flora and fauna of Rajasthan. The Lake Ramsarisagar is also a great example of an ancient reservoir architecture. Suryanamaskar Jaipur is a beginer's introduction to the Yogic lifestyle and the devine practice of Yoga. This sesson of Yoga is a special experience to share with your loved ones.
Drive to the Nahargarh Forests
With the first stroke of the morning Sun drive to the Nahargarh Forest area for our Yoga session in the wild in the outskirts of the Jaipur city. The beauty of the Jaipur city has many layers one of them is to experience the city's gorgeous dawn as you will drive through the old city crossing various Rajasthani mansions, forts and palaces ecpecially the Amber Palace fort. Reach the Nahargarh Biological Park also known as the Nahargarh rescue center for endangered species, here we will be introduced to our Yoga instructor and our Naturalist as all of us hop in our all-terrain Jeeps to ride deep inside the forest to the Ramsarisagar Lake.
07:00 am: Yoga at Ramsarisagar Lake
We ride these rugged trails in our Jeeps to the Ramsarisagar Lake. The reservoir itself is a great example of Urban town planning in the midevial times, the ambience here is perfect for meditation and yoga. The session begins with a small introduction to yoga and vedic meditation followed bySuryanamaskar. A typical yogic routine begins with Suryanamaskar followed by variousAasanas(yogic postures) and Pranayamas(Breathing exercises). Throughout the session our trainers will guide us through the process of learning the Yogic postures and aasanas. After the session we take a short walk absorbing the vast energies of the enviorment through Yoga.
08:30 am: Walk in the Jungle
After this soul refreshing devine experience we all take a short walk with our Naturalist to theShikargah(Hunting Lodge). This structure was built in the 17th century by the rulers of Jaipur to host hunting parties for the royal guests. The view from the lodge itself sings the poetry of the earth.
As the devine time that we spent meditating ends here, we part ways with a souvenir for you to show your friends back home when you share your Rajasthan memoirs.
