Detailed overview

You will be taken through a fascinating journey of Pattachitra. There will be three segments to this heritage experience - history, demonstration and creation. The master artisan will explain in detail the history and mythology behind the Pattachitra art. There will be a guide who will help explain it better in English. The guide will also explain the various nuances of the art and showcase some of their work.

Itinerary

• You are requested to report at Danda Sahi, Balia at around 8:00 AM, or you can select the hotel pick-up and drop from Bhubaneshwar as add-ons while you book the tour.
• Post your arrival in Balia, you will be meeting your hosts for the day, who in turn would take you to meet the artisans. The Pattachitra workshop would be divided into the following stages;
• Demonstration: The master artisan will quickly give a demonstration and history of the art form and show you the basics of how it is done.
• Creation: The master artisan will supervise and guide you to create your own masterpiece of Pattachitra. You can take your masterpiece back with you.
• You will be treated with an ethnic Odia lunch with the artists.
• You can help support the artists further by buying some of their work or spreading the word.
