About Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche Memorial House
The memorial house of Dilgo Khyenste Rinpoche has been preserved since the time he lived there. He is a poet and Bhutan’s one of the greatest spiritual teachers who got was offered this house due to his devotion towards her Royal Majesty Ashi Kesang Choeden Wangchuck. In order to celebrate his centenary, his primary residence was inaugurated as a museum and welcomed the public in 2010. It is located in Kyichu. Once you enter this museum you have to exit it within two hours. But those ‘two hours’ of your visit is surely going to be peaceful and inspirational. The museum contains various costumes, letters and hats of other teachers. There are Rinpoche’s books translated into six different languages. You can see the reception room where he gave private interviews as well as his bedroom where he chanted prayers. The ambiance of this place surely tells us how humble and renowned as a great teacher he was.
