Short Annapurna Foothills - Ghorepani Poon Trek

Short Annapurna Foothills - Ghorepani Poon Trek is a short offering moderate trekking in the Annapurna Himalayas range of Nepal. The trek is intended for those kinds of travelers who are seeking short and pleasant trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal. The trip also includes visit to the major historical monuments of Kathmandu valley.

We trek to the popular vantage point of entire Annapurna Region known as Poon Hill crossing the beautiful mountain villages of Ghandruk, Landruk and Ghorepani. Trekking in the Annapurna foothills to the view point at Poon Hill offers the unobstructed mountain views. This trek is also popular as Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek.

Itinerary:

Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters)

We will receive you from Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to your respective hotel. You will meet our airport representative there with your name board outside the airport terminal. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02- Pre-trip Meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley

In the morning, after breakfast, At around 8am, Massif Holidays arranges a pre- trip meeting at the lobby of your hotel or at our office. During this meeting, we introduce your trip guide, and talk in brief about the trip. You can ask questions with our trip leader to make sure that you are fully prepared for this trip. Please bring four passport size photographs, copy of your insurance policy for the legal formalities and documentation of the trekking. After the meeting we start sightseeing of Kathmandu valley with our expert and knowledgeable tour guide and private transportation. You will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Boudhanath and Pasupatinath during the day tour.  You can explore the free evening and enjoy the dinner somewhere at your interested place. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 - Drive to Pokhara (900 m) - 6 hrs.

Our trekking staff will pick you up at the hotel at 6:30am and escort you to the bus station. The ride will be pleasant and go through one of Nepal’s major highways. For much of the ride’s duration, you will see gorgeous hills and the gushing Trishuli river. Once you reach Pokhara, you will be awestruck by the city’s natural beauty. The gorgeous Phewa lake overlooking the Annapurna range, Macchpuchare “Fishtail” mountain more prominently, will take your breath away. Pokhara is the perfect place for relaxation and adventure activities as well. It is smaller and much less hectic than Kathmandu, hence providing the perfect starting point for our trek. Day 04 - Drive to Nayapul (1,010m) - 1 hr. Trek to Tikhedunga (1,570m) - 3 hrs.

We begin our trek at Nayapul after 1 hour drive by private vehicle from Pokhara. After 15 minutes short walk along the bank of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1015 meters) a large village that has many shops and teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village. The trail follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. The trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille. We reach  at Tikhedhunga after the short climb. Todays walk offers a short and relatively easy day, during the journey which helps us to be used of trekking in the Himalayas. Overnight at Teahouses.

Day 05 - Trek to Ghorepani  (2,840m) - 5 hrs.

We move on towards the steep climb to Ulleri, a large Magar village at an altitude of 2,070m. The trail ascends more gently from this point, through fine forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti at 2,250m. Then we trek towards Nangethanti at 2,460m. After an hour walk we arrive, at Ghorepani (2,840m). Overnight at Teahouses. 

Day 06 - Hike to Poonhill (3210meters) and Trek to Ghandruk (1940 meters) about 8 hours

To see the simply jawdropping sunrise from Poon Hill, we hike to the hilltop very early in the morning. At 3,210m, mountains ahead seem just a stone’s throw away and they radiate into blushing red and then orange as the first beams of sun hits the white snow-capped Annapurnas. From Tadapani the trail descends through forests to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a village of Gurung people, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal; they have their own dialect, culture, costume, and life style. It is a famous destination for trekkers as it is known for its beautiful mountain views and within easy reach from Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Day 07 - Trek to Nayapul (1,010m) and drive to Pokhara

Today, we are going to end our trek at Nayapul followed by a short drive back to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara, you can explore in and around Phewa Lake with your guide. You will have a relaxing afternoon. Overnight at Hotel. 

Day 08- Drive back to Kathmandu, Overnight at hotel

We have tourist coach to drive back Kathmandu today, we will take a same route to Kathmandu. You have the option to extend your trip to continue onto rafting adventure, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, scenic Everest flight, mountain biking and other activities. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. Overnight at Hotel. 

Day 9 - Transfer to the international airport for your final departure

The trip concludes today. Our airport representative will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu for your flight departure from Nepal.
