The village of Limbukha can be reached very easily by travelling through the Feeder road from Punakha and Wangdue. The village also provides some spectacular views of the Punakha Dzong, Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers. Peace and tranquility always prevails in the village of Limbukha. Infact, there is an amazing fact that during ‘Serda’, the annual festival of this village, the inhabitants actually carry peace flags rather than swords and bursting fireworks.
It is also believed that when the medieval war was taking place, the people of this village always came out as Peace Negotiators. Another thing is that in Limbukha, the red rice grown is meant to have some superior medicinal qualities.
Trek from Punakha to Limbukha will take about 4.5 to 6 hours and is a distance of about 14 Kms.
