Panchakki , Aurangabad
About Panchakki
An ancient watermill located approximately 6km out of town. The Panchakki is fed from a spring high in the mountains, and was originally created to harness the energy of the water to drive nearby grinding stones. The Panchakki was built in the 17th century by the Muslim saint Baba Shah Musafir. The mechanism consists of a series of earthenware pipes which bring the water down from the mountain to form a waterfall, which powers the mill.
