About Bada Bagh Cenotaphs
6km North of Jaisalmer lies this desert garden. Barabagh meaning literally ‘big garden’. It contains a set of royal cenotaphs, carved in stone, which are impressively wrapped in formation around the water tank, which the complex was built to house. After the death of his son, Lunkaran added a beautiful garden next to the lake. And later, more cenotaphs were added, the latest one a tribute to Indian independence; still unfinished.
