About Augustmuni
Situated 18 KMs from Rudraprayag, Augustmuni or Agastyamuni is a village set in the hills which is famous for temple of Rishi Agastya. It is believed that Sage Agastya used to worship at the spot where temple is located. Wall of the temples has carvings of many Hindu deities. Augustmuni is situated on the bank of River Mandakini.
There is a helipad here, used by pilgrims going to Kedarnath temple. Augustmuni has basic accommodation facilities for trekkers and pilgrims.
