It is also a place meant for animal- lovers; the Himalayan Zoological Park exhibits the fauna of the Himalayas in their natural habitats- the snow leopard, Tibetan wolf, spotted deer and also red pandas. If you’re an outdoorsy person, paragliding is the sport for you.
Average temperature hovering around 22 degrees even in the summer, occasional snowy days, eternal view of the Himalayas; sounds like a dream. The meaning of ‘Gangtok’ is not very precise but the most popular translation seems to be ‘Hill top’. It’s a perfect place for foodies; with the momos, ‘thukpa’, a traditional soup/ noodle dish and also, ‘churpee’ a kind of cheese. It is a great place to engage in a game of football, or maybe even a round of archery.
