About Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal is the nerve center of the town of Cuttack. Dhenkanal is situated on National Highway No. 55 connecting Cuttack to Sambalpur. The town is named after a ‘Savar Chief’ called ‘Dhenka’, who commanded the area around the present township. The town houses several temples dedicated to different deities of the Hindu pantheon .Some of the famous temples among them are Raghunath, Balabhadra, Sambhugopal and Kunajakanta Krishna temple. Many of tourists and devotees visit these Shrines all around the year. Some of the other attractions near the Dhenkanal are the Deer Park, Science Park and Panthasala, which are 20 km from Dhenkanal.
