Situated in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, Pune is a rambling city. Initially, Pune was known as the pensioner’s bliss, which basically means home for those who needed a peaceful life away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Pune is now a fast-growing hub for entertainment, education, information technology, and industries. Pune is the second-largest city in Maharashtra. Pune has long been a major educational and cultural centre; former prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru referred to it as the “Oxford and Cambridge of India.”

Itinerary

The driver will pick up the guests from the hotel or residence address in Pune city limits at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Begin the tour after a quick introduction with the host and guide for the tour.
The first stop on the visit will be Sahniwar Wada fort, the seven-story capital building of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire.
During the tour, the guests will be guided through the following prominent temples:
Lal Mahal, Dagdusheth Halwai Temple, Kasba Ganpati, and Jangali Maharaj Temple.
Visit the Pathaleshwar Cave temple, carved out of a single rock. The temple houses some beautifully crafted pillars, giant circular stones, and a rotunda roof.
The guests will be guided to the Heritage Pune Municipal Corporation Building as well, the oldest market in Pune, and Aga Khan Palace, one of the important landmarks in Indian history.
Aga Khan Palace also houses the Gandhi National Memorial, which will be the last place of visit for the tour.
The tour ends at Aga Khan Palace Road, and the guests spend the rest of the day exploring nearby places.

The tour has a time limit of 4 hours.
After 4 hours, additional per hour charges are applicable (to be paid directly to the guide in cash).
Rs 1000 per hour is charged for any vehicle (Includes vehicle, fuel, driver and guide charges).

The experience was very positive with an extremely well versed guide in local, national and historic aspects of Pune's history. I would suggest that parts of the tour are fairly challenging as various of the locations lack hand raid for persons who are mildly physically chalkenged.
