About Ogyen Choling Museum
Ogyen Choling Museum is one of the places of attraction in the Tang Valley located 40kms east of the Bathapalathang airport in the town of Jakar. Initially a palace, it was renovated in the 19th century as a family Musuem and a simple guest house. Bhutan’s history and culture is truly captured here. It also provides us knowledge about some religious history of Bhutan. Also you can see the atmosphere of then housefhold of Governor Trongsa Penlop Tshokey Dorji. The museum also offers a glimpse of the trade, tools, ornaments,music, rituals, manuscript collections and agriculture of the Tang Valley. A cultural festival is also held every year by the NGO associated to the Museum.
