The Chendebji Chorten is located at a distance of 41 kms away from the west of Trongsa in Bhutan. The Chirten was mainly built by Tshering Wangchuk- the son of Yon Say and the Mahasiddha Zhidag. The actual architecture of this Chorten is that of the famous Bodhanath Chorten of Nepal. The Chorten has a height of about 2,430 metres. It was built in the agreement of the prophecy of the second Gangteng Tulku Tenzin Lekpai Dhundrup for the control of evil and anti-religious demons. The annual festival of this place- Sambha Lhundrup Molam Chenmo is celebrated here every year from the 21st to 25th day of the 9th Lunar month of the Bhutanese calender.
