About

Jaldapara National Park (Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary) situated in the foothills of Eastern Himalayas in Jalpaiguri district is one of the best wildlife experience in the west Bengal state. Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of about 220 sq km and is located on the banks of River Torsa. Jaldapara boasts of the largest population of Indian one horned rhinoceros in the state. Other wildlife found inside the park includes Royal Bengal tigers, barking deer, spotted deer, Wild boar and Bison etc. various varieties of birds found in the park include Indian hornbill, Partridges, Bengal florican and many varieties of eagles as well.

It’s advisable to take Elephant ride rather than Jeep Safari, as you stand a better chance of spotting wildlife if you are on Elephant rather than nosy vehicle.
