Indore zoo otherwise known as Kamala Nehru Prani Sangrahalya is maintained by Indore’s Municipal Corporation. Initially the zoo was established in Nawlakha region, later expanded to 51 acres by acquiring the adjoining areas. The green vegetation in and around the zoo makes it look like a real forest habitat for the animals. Zoo is well equipped with essential amenities like drinking water, rest rooms, visitor’s shed, wheel chairs for old age and handicapped, etc. It acts as a breeding center for white tiger, gharials, bear, leopards and Hippopotamus.
