Starting from Asiatic lions, to African Cheetahs, to rare peacocks, to various mammals, you get them all here. Sakkarbaug Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in India that opened in 1863 and if you are in Junagadh, do take a break here, for about 2-3 hours and enjoy the beauty of this place. You have a bus ride also, with minimum fare that takes you around the zoo, and if you’re just not interested in zoo; you have the option of halting at the museum that lies within the enclosure itself, holding bones and remains of a lot of animals and it is really interesting too, if you’re interested in wildlife. Wednesday is the only day the zoo is shut for visitors, but otherwise, you have time from 0900-1830 hrs to enjoy the nature and feel some peace and ogle over the beautiful animals, birds, and so on.
