A natural rock in the riverbed is considered to be in the shape of a linga, the shape so often used to represent Lord Shiva. In Hindu myth, Shiva was sitting here when the river Ganges gave him his flowing dreadlocks. In winters, when the water level is lower, the natural linga can be clearly seen.
