About Kaiserbagh Palace
Kaiser Bagh Palace, the most frequented tourist spot in Lucknow was built by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah in the year 1847. The Nawab had a passion for art, poet, and music. He had like to build a palace with wonderful garden following the Mughal Emperor Babur. Kaiser Bagh Palace complex stretches from Chattar Manzil up till Tarawali Kothi. He, in fact proposed to declare this Kaiser Bagh Palace as 8th wonder of world. British Raj demolished many portions of the palace complex when it was under control of Begum Hazrat Mahal, first wife of Nawab Wajid. The lanterns, bastions, turrets, gardens, Hindu Canopies etc take you back to 18th century. The white stone structure called Baradari which was built at the center of palace was actually covered completely with Silver. The three yellow buildings within the quadrangle were where the ladies of royal family resided. The usage of Gilt crown, porches of Mughal style, statues resembling European style gives the palace an exquisite touch.
