About Lad Khan Temple
Lad Khan Temple is believed to be one of the oldest temples in India. It is situated in Ailhole and was built by a prince named Lad Khan in 5th century AD. It is located close to the Durga temple. The temple consists of a shrine with two mantapas overlooking it. The shrine also houses a Shiva lingam. The mukha mantapa covers the sanctum and has a set of 12 carved pillars. The temple architecture has been influenced by the Panchayat hall-style.
